What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include localStorage, which websites use to remember preferences in your browser.
Consent banner
On your first visit we show a cookie banner with three actions: Accept all, Reject non-essential, and Cookie settings (this page). Your choice is saved in localStorage under hp_cookie_consent, with a timestamp in hp_cookie_consent_at.
accepted— non-essential / analytics tools may run if enabledrejected— essential operation only; non-essential tools should not run
Types we use
Essential
Required to remember your consent choice so the banner does not interrupt every page. Strictly necessary for a site you chose to browse with working preferences.
Analytics / performance (non-essential)
If enabled later, these help us see which Atlas regions and Chapters are useful. They run only when consent is accepted.
Marketing
We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask again.
What we store today
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| hp_cookie_consent | localStorage | Accept / reject choice | Until you clear it |
| hp_cookie_consent_at | localStorage | When consent was set | Until you clear it |
Change or clear
Use the buttons at the top of this page, or clear site data for history-pass.lol in your browser. After clearing, the banner returns on the next visit.
